Rice Terraces, Rice Guardians, Rice Wine

7 DAYS/ 6 NIGHTS

USD 1,320 per person (min. of 2 pax/max. of 14 pax)

No rice, no life. Filipinos from different walks of life have a common love for this crop and on this tour, we will visit the rice terraces that made it to the UNESCO World Heritage List. These man-made structures were a magnificent achievement of the Igorots (people of the mountain) and have become the country’s pride.

This road trip presents greater understanding about rice, from preparing the terraces for planting to harvesting the golden brown fields. We delve on its importance to the lives of the Cordillera people. We stay in family-run hotels that offer basic but comfortable accommodation. With the help of your tour leader, our local guides will share the stories behind their customs and traditions that continue to be practiced to this day.

Enjoy the view of the rice terraces that are said to be under the watch of the rice guardians while drinking tapuey (rice wine)!
