Long drives, humidity, tropical rain, island time, toilets with no seats, bugs and stomach bugs aren’t enough to stop us from showing our country’s rawness and beauty.
We run our trips respecting our people, their homes, their place, their beliefs and differences. We act as bridges to better understanding and take on the role as a travel company for the Philippines.
Nikki Takano, Tour Leader
“I was born and raised in the Philippines. Despite of having a Japanese name, I am 100% Filipino. I love history and adventure. Guiding is my passion. I’ve been doing this for eight years and I still love what I’m doing. I’m someone who has a consultative style and who is concerned about my clients’ needs. I consistently ask questions to know what my client truly wants so I can meet their expectations. I make it a point to control a situation rather than have a situation control me.”
Rey Ballesca, Tour Leader
“I love the outdoors. During the lean season, I do trekking, scuba diving, cycling, and ball games among others. When I was a kid, I grew up in a military camp. I used to roam around the place and I think that’s where I found my passion in the outdoors. I started guiding in 2014. I led cycling tours in Intramuros and now, I’m taking people in the most interesting places in the Philippines. I love sharing Filipino culture. I love showing our practices, our way of life and most importantly our hospitality.”
Rupert Andres, Tour Leader
“I’ve been working as a tour guide for three years. I love adventure and making new friends. Being a tour guide is awesome. I believe it’s one of the best jobs in the world. Aside from traveling, you meet a lot of people and you learn from them too. It’s about how you can connect to your guests and how to connect them to locals. As one of the most hospitable countries in the world, the Philippines is genuinely very open and willing to give its best and warmest welcome to its visitors.”
Gale Oclos, Adventure Specialist
“I’ve been at Intas for about four years now. What I love most about my job is when I involve myself in developing and planning tours in new destinations, which are not too familiar to me. The chance of discovery and experiencing different cultures and meeting the local people in each place are my favorites. These would help me create exciting adventures to offer to our partners.”
